13 Things Your Hairstylist Won't Tell You

We are all fond of going to parlors to get some make and over and of course, to beautify ourselves so we could feel confident in some way. We can usually found a lot of girls on parlors whenever they intend to have some manicure or pedicure, any treatments for their body and of course for a new hairstyle. It’s the typical way for women in making their life prettier as well as building their coolness in their own way. Well, I’m the hairstylist of my own hair so you won’t see me often on parlors. I only intend to go to when I want to give my hair a different style which I can’t make it by myself.

There are also some facts which customers need to understand about their hairstylist. Because your hairstylists is not a robot and not a machine that can you can always tell him to do this and that, I guess you need some time to read out of these tips so you’ll be able to mingle well with your stylist the next time you hang around their parlors.

Hairstylists share their tips for understanding their jobs and how to get the most out of your time in the swivel chair.

  1. I'm a beautician, not a magician. I can give you Gisele Bündchen's haircut, but I can't give you her face.

  2. Come at least five minutes early. If you're running late, please call ahead. Show me some basic respect. This is a business, not fun and games.
  3. Don't ask me to "squeeze" you in when I'm already booked. I'd be taking time and effort away from other clients. You wouldn't like being treated that way.

  4. Hairdresser school does not teach about counter transference, projection, negative reinforcement, or personality disorders. If you're looking for a therapist, all I have is a tail comb and an opinion.

  5. Some women think that if they keep their hair all one length the way it was in high school, everyone will think they're still in high school. Guess what? You're not. As you get older, you need to soften the lines around your face. Layers are the magic remedy.

  6. Bodies and hair change as hormones change. If your hair is dry, listless, or brittle, or if it's not holding your color or style the way it used to, see a doctor. If your hair isn't overprocessed, you could be pregnant (surprise!) or menopausal (yes, I can tell).
  7. A trim is not "just" a trim. It requires my expertise, skill, knowledge, and time. Would you say to your dentist, "It's just a tooth," or to your doctor, "It's just a leg"?
  8. That single bill you stuff into the shampoo person's hands isn't doing her any favors. A dollar bill doesn't buy anything anymore. You should tip her at least $3—more if your hair is long.
  9. If you want to buy a bottle of color and do your own hair to save a buck, you can live with the consequences.
  10. Some clients will say, "Cut my hair just like you did last time." That always baffles me. The average time between appointments is six to eight weeks. I have hundreds of clients. How am I supposed to remember exactly how I did your hair the last time? If you want a carbon copy of a cut and style you loved, take a picture and show me.
  11. Why do you think a child's haircut should cost less than yours? Kids don't sit still. Kids kick. It's an intense experience.
  12. Standing all day and using scissors and a blow-dryer takes its toll—I have arthritis in my fingers, calcium deposits in my wrist, and 10 percent less hearing than I used to. I am a physical wreck.

13. We see women at their worst. Their hair is wet, they have foils on their hair, and they have no makeup on. There's nothing for them to hide behind. So they tell us everything. The truth is, I really don't care what they do sexually. I'm only interested in their hair.

ZZzzzzzz........

I don’t have enough sleep this past few days and I really find hard to catch that sweet sleep. Insomnia I guess. This is relatively hard on my part since I need to be awake early in the morning to go to work. How can I do that anyway if I’m having that sleepy syndrome which also makes me lazy to do my job? Whenever I got the chance to catch sleep on my break time, you’ll probably see me at the sleeping quarters of the office just to cope up that drowsiness. But sometimes I’ve been experiencing oversleeping too which causes too much headache after I woke up. Well, maybe I just don’t know how to manage myself at times when to have a good and proper sleep. Or maybe I just think too much that’s why I can’t just relax my mind and my body. It sucks you know, cause having a day without a good sleep can really make you crazy, tired and even lets you feel like you’re a whole damn shit that comes from nowhere...

As I’ve read this article over the net, this somehow gives me some tips on how to manage time on how to catch a good sleep. It’s helpful so have some time to read.

Media reports tell us that America is a sleep-deprived nation of workaholics who are sacrificing their health to achieve the overscheduled modern lifestyle. But we seldom hear about those at the other end of the spectrum who sleep well beyond the recommended seven to eight hours a night.

Some studies have found that sleeping nine hours or more a night may have a negative impact on health. However, the evidence is not nearly as clear as data showing that too little sleep (four to five hours) can lead to illness, accidents, and lowered productivity. We do know that depression can manifest itself through both insomnia and low energy levels leading to extended periods of sleep.

So is it possible to sleep too much? How can you develop healthy sleep habits? Here are some tips.

Don't Use Sleep to Escape

Sometimes when I feel overwhelmed, I can become a bit of a possum - curling up and falling asleep when threatened. While this isn't a particularly destructive way to escape uncomfortable emotions, it also isn't an indicator of being able to deal with them. If you are a "possum sleeper," I would suggest trying to sit through a period of discomfort using a different behavior, such as exercise, to lessen anxiety.

Don't Overdo the Napping

Naps have gotten a bad rap in the United States, but there has been a trend over the past few years to embrace the power nap (a fifteen- or twenty-minute refresher in the afternoon). Numerous studies have shown that these short naps are in fact an excellent way to sustain our energy and focus throughout the day. However, a power nap can easily turn into a two-hour deep sleep for some of us. This amount of sleep in the afternoon will leave you feeling groggy and likely disrupt your sleep pattern at night.

Don't Make Sleep the Weekend Reward

Those of us with busy work schedules often treat ourselves to long sleeps on the weekend. You shouldn't feel guilty about this, but I wonder if this behavior falls into the same pattern as overeating on the weekend and then starving yourself during the week. A consistent level of sleep throughout the week seems like a healthier option.

Don't Get Bored

If I don't know what to do with myself, I will often feel tired and sleep more than I think is necessary. The reality is that there is always something to do if we want to seek out activities, such as exercising or volunteering. Keep busy and you will feel less tired.

Good health is usually dependent upon moderation, and it seems, sleep is no exception.

Are You A Lazy Lover?

I found this article when I’m too busy browsing the net. I think that this could help you give some ideas or maybe recognize yourself in someway if you really do belong in the world of lazy lovers. Hahah! Check this out!

Because sex involves interaction with other human beings, it will come as no surprise that we don't always treat one another well in bed.

Human beings are assailed by bad habits and selfish behavior in every area of life. When it comes to sex, sometimes we just get lazy.

Do you recognize yourself below? If so, you may be sexually lazy.

The Me, Me, Me Lover

Sometimes it can be exciting when one person kicks back and lets another give them pleasure. But all the time? If one partner dominates in a relationship, the temptation might be to dominate in bed as well, calling the shots and determining every move. Whatever form it takes, sex is a two-way street where both participants need to decide what is going to be served on the "love menu" on any particular night.

The Only On Saturday Lover

I think there are many benefits to keeping a regular schedule but it can also lead to a stale love life. The danger for many busy people is that the weekend is the only time they indulge in personal pleasure.

Sex can become relegated to Saturday night in the way that laundry is saved for Sunday afternoon. Whenever sex happens, it should not be a chore. Try changing up the sex schedule to break your routine.

The Wait For It Lover

It would be wonderful if we could read one another's minds in a relationship and know the perfect moment for sex. But, generally, one person needs to instigate romance, and it is easy for that task to always fall on the same person.

It is much fairer, and more exciting, if both partners in a relationship initiate sex from time to time. Aside from fairness, more equality in this area helps to create variety, as we all have different times and places we find exciting.

The Not In The Mood Lover

Sexual excitement doesn't always just happen. If we wait until we are fully revved-up to initiate sex in a relationship, it may never happen.

There are a variety of ways to help your partner become excited or to get turned-on yourself. But if we shut down the possibility of sex unless our mood is perfect, we lose the opportunity for real interaction in our relationships. Not in the mood? Maybe you will be in 15 minutes if you give it a try!

Sex is a wonderful gift that can help us stay physically, emotionally, and spiritually healthy. But like all health matters, sex requires work. So don't be a lazy lover!

Bicol's Best Beach and Places

When I was at my young age, I always dream of living by the sea and have a nice and cool house out there so I could enjoy the sea breeze in the morning, relax myself from the busy street of the city and give myself a huge time to unwind. I’m a typical Bicolana who always loved to enjoy the beauty of nature and always tend to appreciate its natural work of art. Well, If you happen to notice everything that surrounds you, you’ll be pleased to know more about it and how they'll perfectly give beauty to your life.

Bicol in particular owns wonderful beach and places that you’ll actually love to see and experience to stay to feel its magnificence. I haven’t travel much around Bicol but I’m still looking forward to see all its loveliness in due time. For sure, this will require me saving some cash for a cool journey. Though now I’m living far away from home, I always ensure to have time to go by the beach near our place every time I went home because it always gives me a different feeling of relieving myself from my busy world way back here in Manila. I love the beach so much and I’m obsessed with beaches. And one thing that I wanna do for the rest of my life is to visit and go to different beach resorts may it be here in the Philippines or in other countries. I’ve been to some cool beach resorts too and I really love the feeling of being there.

I’ve got some photos here of Bicol’s best places, resorts and beaches that I’ve collected from different sources, so try exploring them and if you think you got the time to drop by Bicol region, find some time to visit these places.

Care to have an Ambigram tats?

One thing that I like on tattoos is that they come in various features which will give you a choice to choose what will best fit on your skin’s design. Well, I usually prefer to have oriental tats on my body and I love having them on my back. Other tattoo designs are great too. But look what stun me here is the ambigram tattoos. Ambigram are usually known as an inversion or flipscript which is actually a graphical figure that spells out a word not just in a way or form that is presented but most likely in another direction. The text is spelled out and can be read the same way. As per Douglas R. Hofstadter explains that an ambigram design is a calligraphic art that manages to squeeze two different readings but in the same set of curves. The word ambigram was then first used to mean “ambiguous anagram.”

However, some guys and gals tend to choose ambigram as their tattoo designs and customize it even more for a greater outcome of the tats. I was thinking to have one too, but I think not now. I need sometime to think about it first and make my own cool text to relate it to my first and upcoming tats. But if in case I will do so I’ll be putting up Jericho’s name in an ambigram style that looks like an oriental one.
